About

Tyson Savanah, also known as Father Marker, is a muralist and visual artist from the Mornington Peninsula, Australia.

With a background in Industrial Design (Honours) from RMIT and a lifelong passion for art, design, and illustration, Tyson began his journey as Father Marker in 2018, inspired by the birth of his twin daughters. Since then, he has carved out a dynamic freelance career that balances commissioned projects with personal creative exploration.

His work spans large-scale murals, ground art, illustration, mascot and logo design, merchandise, signwriting, and vehicle wraps. Whether collaborating with councils or private clients, Tyson brings the same level of craft and vision to every surface he paints.

In 2021–22, he was selected for two of five mural sites as part of the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Anti-Graffiti EOI Project—chosen from over 200 applicants. He was also awarded the mural commission for Bentons Square Community Centre that same year. More recently, he has led council-funded mural workshops, mentoring young artists and promoting community engagement through public art.

Tyson’s style reflects a deep love of nature, especially Australian flora and fauna, with a strong focus on endangered species. His work is influenced by surrealism, mythology, folklore, and a sense of adventure. With bold palettes, intricate detail, and playful touches of humour, his art is as thoughtful as it is eye-catching.

At the heart of Tyson’s practice is a desire to enrich and enliven public spaces—creating works that honour the unique character, culture, history, and environment of each place he paints.

Cheers,

Tyson
