"Jan’s Eagle" – Custom Acrylic Painting on Wooden Panel (90 x 90 cm)

This hand-painted acrylic artwork was a deeply personal commission created to honour the memory of Jan’s late brother, Ross, who had a special connection with the wedge-tailed eagle. Jan requested a large, striking depiction of the bird, and I was truly moved by the opportunity to bring her vision to life.

Painting this majestic eagle was both a creative and emotional journey. It was my first privately commissioned piece on a wooden panel, making it a milestone in my artistic practice. Seeing Jan’s emotional reaction—happy tears included—was the greatest measure of success I could hope for. This piece stands as a tribute, not only to Ross but also to the powerful role art can play in memory and connection.
