“Birds and the Bee”
Spray paint and acrylic on outdoor surface
Created in Bendigo

“Birds and the Bee” is a vibrant tribute to my old mate Joel—a passionate twitcher (that’s a dedicated birdwatcher whose goal is to spot rare species). The artwork brings together a pair of rose robins (male and female), a brilliant blue-banded bee, and the iconic waratah flower—each element chosen to reflect both beauty and biodiversity.

I spent a few joyful days in Bendigo bringing this piece to life in their outdoor space. It’s a celebration of Joel’s love of nature, the thrill of rare sightings, and the quiet magic of native species right in our backyard.
