Giant Spider Crabs roating chickens on flaming jet-skis
Digital Concept created in Procreate
“Attack On Rye”
Anamorphic mural | Spray paint and acrylic
Commissioned by Penni Ave Distillery, Rye
This is my most ambitious mural to date—an anamorphic artwork created for Penni Ave Distillery, inspired by their very own distilling unit, “Walter.” In this bold, cinematic scene, Walter is reimagined as a towering Mech-bot hero locked in an epic battle against a monstrous Kaiju barley sack threatening the coastal town of Rye. Their showdown unfolds high above the iconic Rye pier, blending local landmarks with a playful twist of sci-fi drama.
Look closer, and you’ll find a surreal supporting cast: hooded plovers and giant spider crabs—symbols of real local environmental issues—cheekily roasting chickens on flaming jet skis. It’s tongue-in-cheek, yes, but it’s also a nod to the growing need for awareness and protection of Rye’s fragile ecosystems.
Commissioned by Penni Ave owners Damian and Gen, the mural merges local storytelling with social commentary, all while injecting a hefty dose of fun. Huge thanks to the crew at Penni Ave for the opportunity and support on this beast of a project. Drop by the distillery to see it in person—and to hear the full tale behind the battle.
