This custom artwork was created as a special surprise for Jake’s 40th birthday, commissioned by his wife, Roxy. It was a joy to paint this piece in the studio—especially knowing it would be gifted as a heartfelt celebration of someone’s milestone.

Roxy gave me a beautifully open brief, with just one meaningful direction: to incorporate Jake’s favourite local flowers and birds. Using a combination of acrylic and spray paint on pine panel, I built up layers of vibrant colour and texture, weaving together the flora and fauna that hold personal significance for Jake. The result is a balanced, expressive work that reflects a deep connection to place and nature
